About Me




















Hey my name is John Kuhn. I graduated last year, 2009, at Howard High School. I am currently working as a waiter and sometimes a chef at On the Border restarunt in Columbia. I am 18 about to be 19 and i do alot of partying with my friends. All my friends live in a house together and we are always there listeing to music and chillin. We all like the same type of music and go to concerts and stuff together. Some of my favorite bands are For Today, The Devil Wears Prada, Bless the Fall, A Day to Remeber, Attack Attack, Zac Brown Band, and some others...I am a very fun person to be around. I make friends easily and im not one who takes lying or betraying lightly. The worst thing you can do to me is lie to me! If your honest im honest back. I like working with my hands and getting dirty. This is just a few things about me if you wanna no more call me or just come chill with me! Fraud in Academia

Walter Williams's article was on point! He is concerned about how the students of the American society have been lacking in school and recieving good grades for it. If colleges do what he said they should do students will get higher grades. He says, "To approach truth in grading, parents and employers should lower the average student's grade by one letter, and interpret a C grade as an F." In my opinion this is exactly what should happen. If your son or daughter is in a high academic school such as Harvard, they should be doing all they can to be getting good grades and become something more than just drunk kids on the weekends.
College is a time to have fun, yes and no. Yes becasue your on your own and your depending on yourself to do what you want, when you want. No because you dont have anyone to blame but yourself if something happens to you while in class. For example bad grades, these bad grades could be good grades just by taking the time to study for an hour or two everynight. It's pathetic that 71 percent failed that survey on basic world history. Jay Leno went around asking random people on the streets simple questions about our country and they got every answer wrong. For example, "how many stars on the American flag?" Someone said, "its moving to fast to count." Dummy! This is what happens when you change peoples grades in college.

Bishop-Enemies of Promise

After reading just a few pages from Bishop's work it made me want to stop reading it. In my opinion i feel that everything he states is bull crap. Some of the points he makes in his work are seen in his own eyes or are seen only from one side. For example, Bishop states, "Yet despite these proud achievments, science today is increasingly misunderstood and under attack". Reading or hearing this shows that he hasn't got a clue from how the people on the other end of this argument feel.
Some people believe the same things Bishop does, and thats that things are going to happen no matter what and that its their job to take "it" apart and figure out why. Where as, other people like my self, feel that things don't happen for a reason, you make things happen how you think they should happen. People don't need a reason for why things happen in the world today, they only need a reason of why they should or shouldn't do something. For example the 9/11 attacks. The terrorists on the plane had a choice of whether they wanted to take it over and crash it or not. This didnt happen because it was destined to happen, it happened becasue they wanted to start a war with the U.S.A.
Bishop also agrees to what Charles Darwin says about how mankind came to happen. People like priests, or other people who follow religion like myself feel that this is utterly and completly untrue. We believe we were made from God not from monkeys. Where did the monkeys come from? All the things on this planet came from somewhere, they didnt just pop out of no where. Someone created them. Not science!

"New Moon"


From watching this movie trailer of "New Moon" makes me not want to see it. I feel this way because those types of "lovey dovey" vampire movies don't suit me. I like real vampire movies like "Blade" or "The Lost Boys". "The Lost Boys" are the type of vampire movies i like to see. But "New Moon", to me is a waste of a perfectly good vampire movie. They are supposed to be bloody and gorey, not "chick flicks". This is just my opinon and thats how i feel!

English "300" original and revised

ORIGINAL VERSION:
“300” isn’t just a silly action flick, it has a powerful message for today. Considering how it represents american values. It should be no suprise why it was such a big hit. The American values “300” espouses include the following; freedom, independence, and family. The movie reflects the values of freedom and independence because the spartans don’t want to be enslave by the persians. Causing them to lose their right too do what they want. Family because they fight so their wives and children won’t be enslave. Everyone loves their family. Which makes this part of the movie easy to relate to. If you doesn’t believe “300” represents american values, then just look, at how much family meens to americans and remember what Thomas Jefferson says in the Declaration of Independence, “[men] are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” (518). However, its true that “300” reflects the values of freedom the Founding Fathers has.
