New Tattoo

Its been about a year since my first tattoo so I decided it was time for my next one. Since we had off on Wednesday I thought, "what the heck I have nothing to do today ill get my tattoo done." The tattoo in the picture is the one i got. It has been in my family for years and it will continue to be there for more years to come. This tattoo is a family crest worn only by the guys in the family. Thats the only reason why I got it. This tattoo was made by my Uncle Steve.

After getting the tattoo i felt really good. It was well worth the money and pain. Everyone says tattoos are the worst feelings in the world but actually it all depends on where you actually get it on your body. In my opinion arms and legs are relativly painless but anywhere else i can see why it would hurt after getting one done. There is sayingmy uncle told me that the Marines use, and that saying always pops into my head everytime I get one. "Pain is weakness leaving the body" and that is 100% completely true!

In my opinion tattoos are very addicting! They are like a drug. Once you have one you are going to want more and more. What can i say this is true aswell. One wasn't enough and neither is two. Hopefully after Christmas I will have enough money for my next tattoo. I only get tattoos that mean something to me at heart. Which is why both of the ones I have are the only ones I have so far. Get a Tattoo!

Ravens vs. Steelers

What a game last night! That game had potenital to be a classic Super Bowl Game! Everyone says, "Oh, you guys would have lost had Rothlesburger and Polamolu been in!" and you know what...you are wrong! The ravens played a great game and did what they needed to do. Seeing them win for the 3rd time at home against the Steelers was awsome! Three out of four times...i'll take that! I wasn't fortunate enough to go to the game i got to see it at work and it was just as good.

A few years ago the Steelers starting quarterback, Tommy Madox was hurt durring the game against the Ravens and Rothlesburger made his apperance. In my opinion the same thing happened last night. Dennis Dixon showed Pitsburgh and Baltimore of why he is here in the NFL. That QB deffinatly has a future and potential to be a starting QB for the Steelers or another team. I HATE the Steelers! But last nights game with Dennis Dixon in as quarterback, I can say i have earned repsect for him. He almost beat Baltimores team. Ray Lewis and his defense did a good job in welcoming the new QuarterBack.

Our offense could have been a little better and each game will have its mistakes but the mistakes we make happen every week. For example, holding penalties, offsides, chop blocks, and the most common one...illegal block in the back. If the Ravens keep working on reducing these penalties they will keep winning! A win is a win and a loss is a loss no matter how you look at it! We got the W!

Way of Writing

After reading and analyzing another writers work I now feel more comfortable in writing papers. What I mean by this, is that we were to crtique a writers work. Whether it would be finding grammatical errors, comma splices, run ons, and or just writing what we thought about the paper. Using these key things in analyzing someones paper helps me as a writer. I felt like I was a teacher grading a students essay. Using these key factors I can now reread and go back over my paper when I am done writing and see how many mistakes there are and go back and change them. Doing this will help me not only do a better job of writing an "A" paper but it will also help me in other areas. For example, after I fix my grammatical errors I will go back and reread the paper a day or two later to see if I can ask myself "why" at the end of a paragraph or ask myself "is this persuasive or not." If I answer these two questions in the paragraph(s) then I will know that there is nothing more I can do.
From the process of analyzing another work I have learned how to use the PEE structure more effectivly. If i state a point ill then explain the point. After that I will provide an example(s). All of these things that I used in analyzing another persons work will continue to help me throughout my years of college in writing papers. Because now i no what the reader of my paper will be looking for and i'll also know that the reader will be trying to connect with me both physically and emotionally on how my tone and point of view come across about the topic I am writing about.

Judgement

If someone came across my blog on the internet there isnt much on there that they can judge me on. The only things that they would be able to judge me on is the the color of the layout, my one picture, my blogs, and my about me section. Whoever reads my about me section would find out things like; where i work, what i do at work, how old i am, where i went to school, what i like to do, and what kind of music i listen to. A person who writes about the topics i have written about is the person that exemplifies a student in school, which is what it would come across as if someone were to read the blog entires i have wrote. The layout on my page is very simple, its just black. Not much you can say or judge about that.

Now if someone were to read or look at my facebook that would be a different story. My facebook portrays me as crazy person with no intention of getting anything in my life done. My pictures are all of my friends and me doing what we do best. Partying and having a good time. There are some common things on both. They both tell about me and show pictures. Also they have very common plain layouts. My facebook, although has a little more information about me. I would not care if an employer or teacher saw either one. The reason why is beacuse i these are just pictures and things i like to do. Just going by what you see or read will not give you the full story about the person. "DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER"

Fraud in Academia

Walter Williams's article was on point! He is concerned about how the students of the American society have been lacking in school and recieving good grades for it. If colleges do what he said they should do students will get higher grades. He says, "To approach truth in grading, parents and employers should lower the average student's grade by one letter, and interpret a C grade as an F." In my opinion this is exactly what should happen. If your son or daughter is in a high academic school such as Harvard, they should be doing all they can to be getting good grades and become something more than just drunk kids on the weekends.
College is a time to have fun, yes and no. Yes becasue your on your own and your depending on yourself to do what you want, when you want. No because you dont have anyone to blame but yourself if something happens to you while in class. For example bad grades, these bad grades could be good grades just by taking the time to study for an hour or two everynight. It's pathetic that 71 percent failed that survey on basic world history. Jay Leno went around asking random people on the streets simple questions about our country and they got every answer wrong. For example, "how many stars on the American flag?" Someone said, "its moving to fast to count." Dummy! This is what happens when you change peoples grades in college.

Bishop-Enemies of Promise

After reading just a few pages from Bishop's work it made me want to stop reading it. In my opinion i feel that everything he states is bull crap. Some of the points he makes in his work are seen in his own eyes or are seen only from one side. For example, Bishop states, "Yet despite these proud achievments, science today is increasingly misunderstood and under attack". Reading or hearing this shows that he hasn't got a clue from how the people on the other end of this argument feel.
Some people believe the same things Bishop does, and thats that things are going to happen no matter what and that its their job to take "it" apart and figure out why. Where as, other people like my self, feel that things don't happen for a reason, you make things happen how you think they should happen. People don't need a reason for why things happen in the world today, they only need a reason of why they should or shouldn't do something. For example the 9/11 attacks. The terrorists on the plane had a choice of whether they wanted to take it over and crash it or not. This didnt happen because it was destined to happen, it happened becasue they wanted to start a war with the U.S.A.
Bishop also agrees to what Charles Darwin says about how mankind came to happen. People like priests, or other people who follow religion like myself feel that this is utterly and completly untrue. We believe we were made from God not from monkeys. Where did the monkeys come from? All the things on this planet came from somewhere, they didnt just pop out of no where. Someone created them. Not science!
